About Us
We started as a youth dance program in 2016, which served low-income youth and provided hot meals and snacks to the students and families. The facility that we operated out of also served food to homeless individuals who walked up.
Covid shut down the dance program, yet there was still the need to help the families we were serving. As a result, we shifted focus to our 501 (c)3 to address the rapidly growing homelessness.
The R.E.A.L. Youth Foundation works hard to support the underserved individuals in our community.
Every Sunday from November 2020-March 2023, our team prepared and hand-delivered hot meals and goodie bags filled with cookies, chips, granola bars, a love note, water, and a juice pouch. Many of our friends in need have pet companions that we also supply dog and cat food for.
Volunteer teams also distributed donated items such as: wipes, clothes blankets, cleaning supplies, and hygiene bags.
Our unique method to distribute food & goods has positively impacted the familiar faces we have built relationships with. The individuals we serve range from infants to elderly, however families with children are our focus.
Annually we host 3 major events; Christmas for Kids, Back to School, and Easter. These events collectively provide for more than 2,000 children from low-income families in Los Angeles County.
To date we have distributed; 17,205 hot meals, 7,500+ hygiene bags, 6,460 lbs of dog and cat food, 34,200+ bottles of water, 12,000+ backpacks, and school supplies to 8,000+ students.
