About Us
We started as a youth dance program in 2016, which served low-income youth and provided hot meals and snacks to the students and families. The facility that we operated out of also served food to homeless individuals who walked up.
Covid shut down the dance program, yet there was still the need to help the families we were serving. As a result we began to focus on our 501 (c)3 so that we could address the rapidly growing homelessness.
The R.E.A.L. Youth Foundation works hard to address the homelessness plaguing our communities. We aim to support and bring awareness to the needs of the children & families living in RV's, cars, tents, and homes all suffering from food insecurity.
Every Sunday since November 2020, our team prepares and hand-delivers hot meals and a lunch bag lead with cookies, chips granola bars, water and/or juice pouches, and a hand written uplifting note. Many of our friends in need have companions that we also supply dog and cat food for.
Volunteers also distribute donated items such as: wipes, clothes blankets, cleaning supplies, and hygiene bags. The hygiene bags are filled with standard necessities: socks, wash cloth laundry soap deodorant, toothpaste,, toothbrush, bar soap, Q-tips, razor, comb, face mask, and hand sanitizer.
Our unique method to distribute food & goods has positively impacted the familiar faces we have built relationships with. Our families range from infants to paraplegic elderly, however families with children are our focus.
To date we have distributed; 16,355 hot meals and lunch bags, 3,025+ hygiene bags, 6,315 lbs of dog and cat food, 31,450+ bottles of water, 1,450 backpacks, and school supplies to 1,200+ students. Our foundation provides volunteer opportunities for youth. Providing these opportunities, helps create socially conscious and empathetic youth that will continue to incite change in our communities.
